Back to School

A new academic year often means a mix of excitement and anxiety for students of all ages, whether starting a new school, moving up a year or whatever the next chapter might be. As backpacks are filled with fresh notebooks and pencils, and classrooms come to life, there is an undeniable energy in the air. However, it's also natural for students to have worries and concerns about what lies ahead…

No Worries?

Your teachers or supervisors will have a wealth of experience and if they can’t help you, they will signpost you to someone who can, perhaps the school counsellor, nurse or Teen Clinic Daventry.

Youngminds.org.uk has a whole section dedicated to ‘Problems at School’ and other topics such as dealing with anxiety around school, self-esteem and believing in yourself, bullying, friendships and exam pressures.

Ultimately it's okay not to have all the answers right now, but being happy at school leads to you feeling empowered to embrace challenges, learn from experiences, and make the most of educational opportunities!

“Getting good grades, keeping up with social media, maintaining friendships... you have a lot on your plate and it's more difficult when you add anxiety to the mix. You may even be avoiding situations, events, or people that could trigger your anxiety. So, how do you stop yourself from missing out on life? With Anxiety Relief for Teens, Dr. Regine Galanti teaches you how CBT-based skills and mindfulness techniques can help you manage your anxiety and reverse negative patterns.”
